| About the Delta Dental Foundation
The Delta Dental Foundation (formerly the Delta Dental Fund*)
is a nonprofit, charitable organization established in 1980
by Delta Dental of Michigan, one of the largest administrators
of dental benefits plans in the United States. Today, the
Delta Dental Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Delta
Dental of Michigan, Ohio and Indiana.
The Delta Dental Foundations goals are
to support education and research for the advancement
of dental science and to promote the oral health of
the public through education and service activities,
particularly for those with special needs.
During the course of its more than 25-year history,
the Delta Dental Foundation has provided projects and grants
totaling more than $9.5 million toward the improvement of
oral health. Among them:

Scholarships and leadership
awards to dental students

Scientific research

Programs designed to make dental care available
to those unable to afford it

Programs to help at-risk populations and individuals
with special needs obtain dental treatment

Continuing education
programs for the dental profession

Educational materials on the importance of oral
health and hazards to oral health

Community-based educational programs for dental
students
Similar to its parent organization, Delta Dental, the Delta
Dental Foundation has a strong commitment to the improvement
of oral health and a tradition of service to the community.
Working in concert with the dental profession, as well as
other groups focused on oral health issues, the Delta Dental
Foundation is dedicated to making a difference in the tri-state
region in which it operates. *The Foundation will continue to use the name Delta Dental
Fund in legal documents. |
