Historically, ISO has applied to the manufacturing sector.  However, other industries are embracing ISO standards as a way to improve quality and ensure consistency in the products and services they deliver.

How can standards that dictate the dimensions of screws and debit cards help improve the quality of the services Delta Dental provides?  ISO developed different kinds of standards for the service sector: they focus on the way a business operates.

And we regularly measure the satisfaction of our members, employer groups and dentists to gauge how well we are meeting their needs.
